HOW DOES LIPOSUCTION WORK?

Do you have stubborn flab that you wish would just disappear? These regions of excess fat are often resistant to exercise and dieting, causing people to feel incredibly frustrated at their lack of progress.

If you’re looking for an effective way to get rid of fat once and for all, consider liposuction. Liposuction is a procedure used to remove excess unwanted fatty tissue. It breaks up those stubborn fat cells to make removal easier and then suctions them out of the body with the help of medical suction.

This procedure is extremely versatile. It can be used to reduce the volume of a number of areas of the body and is most commonly used for the abdomen, thighs, chin, back, arms, and buttocks.

There are different types of liposuction techniques in use today, and the most popular of these techniques is called tumescent liposuction.

WHAT IS TUMESCENT LIPOSUCTION?

The tumescent liposuction technique is a highly effective option for fat reduction. Tumescent liposuction is preferred by people due to its capacity to eliminate unpleasant side-effects that can be caused by other methods of liposuction. It begins with the administration of tumescent fluid.

Tumescent fluid is a solution made up of local anesthetic, normal saline, and epinephrine. These elements serve to provide a number of benefits.

The local anesthetic numbs the region to any pain or discomfort. Because so much local anesthesia is used in the tumescent fluid, the procedure will not require general anesthesia.

Many people have adverse reactions to general anesthesia, including nausea and vomiting. Since tumescent liposuction uses local anesthesia instead, these side-effects are eliminated.

The epinephrine in tumescent fluid works to reduce the size of the capillaries in the region. This results in reduced blood loss during the actual fat removal procedure.

It also helps in minimizing other side-effects like bruising, swelling, and pain that occur after the completion of the procedure. With this reduction in these side-effects, the patient can enjoy a more comfortable and shorter recovery period.

Epinephrine also makes the stubborn fatty tissue swell up and become firm. This helps Dr. Chevray extract the fat more easily. It helps to make the entire procedure smoother and more comfortable.

WHAT TO EXPECT DURING THE PROCEDURE

First, the target areas of excess fat are carefully marked. After the tumescent fluid is injected into the regions, tiny incisions are made. Fat can be removed through these incisions.

To accomplish this, an instrument known as a cannula is used. This tube with a sharp end is inserted into the incisions and then used to suction out fatty tissue with the help of medical suction.

Once enough excess fat has been removed to achieve the patient’s aesthetic goals and the targeted regions have been reduced in volume, the incisions are dressed to prevent infection.

Follow Dr. Chevray’s post-surgical care directions as closely as possible to get the most from your procedure’s results. This will also allow you to avoid complications.
